Privacy Policy
This policy covers this website and nothing else. It explains what is collected when you visit, what happens to anything you send through the contact form, and what it does not cover — which is the confidentiality of counseling itself, a separate and much stronger protection described below.

What the contact form collects
The form asks for your name, your email address, an optional phone number, and whatever you choose to write in the message. That is sent to me by email and is not stored in a database on this site. Nothing else is gathered from you, and there is no account to create.
Please keep the message brief. A sentence about what you are looking for and how to reach you is genuinely enough, and the first phone call is a far better place for detail than a web form.
Email is not a secure channel
This is the part worth reading twice. Email travels across systems neither of us controls, and it can sit on servers, phones, and laptops for a long time afterwards. It is fine for arranging a call. It is not a good place for sensitive detail about your health, your relationships, or anything you would not want read by someone else with access to your device or your account.
If you would rather not put anything in writing at all, simply call. You are welcome to say no more than that you would like to talk.
How an enquiry is different from being a client
Contacting me through this site does not make you a client and does not by itself begin a professional relationship. It also does not create a treatment record.
If we go on to work together, everything from that point is covered by clinical confidentiality and by the records I am required to keep as a licensed professional counselor in Texas. That protection is considerably stronger than anything on this page, and it is explained in full in the paperwork you receive before a first session.
Confidentiality has limits set by law rather than by me — situations involving risk to a child, an elderly or disabled person, a serious risk of harm to yourself or someone else, or a court order. Those limits are set out in the intake paperwork, and you are welcome to ask about any of them beforehand.
What the site itself records
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no tracking pixels, and there is no advertising network watching your visit. As with any website, the service hosting it keeps ordinary technical logs — the pages requested, rough timing, and similar — which is how a site is kept running and secure.
Two things on the site are provided by others and behave according to their own policies rather than mine: videos, which are embedded from YouTube using its no-cookie address, and the Book Online button, which hands you over to Zocdoc. Following either takes you outside this site.
Nothing is sold or shared for marketing
Your information is not sold, rented, traded, or passed to anyone for advertising purposes, and you will not be added to a mailing list. There is no mailing list.
I will use what you send only to reply to you and to arrange a conversation.
Asking about your information, or changing it
You are welcome to ask what I hold from a website enquiry, to correct it, or to ask that it be deleted, and I will do so unless a professional record-keeping obligation requires me to keep it. Just ask.
